Browsing a small local fish store and came across a 6-7" knife. Sold to me as a featherfin knife, but I though for sure it was an African Brown Knife. But has a little dorsal finlet. Googled featherfin knife and came up as either an Asian Knife or Reticulated knife, but I think I have it some what narrowed down to Notopterus Notopterus. I've read several threads here were they though they had the same thing, but it turned out to be a color varient of a Clown Knife. It was only $20 which I though wasn't too bad.

Yup...Notopterus Notopterus;)

Hes been doing good so far, much more active than I though it would be. So far has shown no signs of agression toward any tank mates yet. 4 large polpyterus, 3 Angels and a white spotted bristlenose. Is it rare or not so much? Read a few sites that says they don't show up very often.

They aren't rare, but they don't get imported here too often. They are known to be the most aggressive out of the Chitala species. And that's still a little guy. Just watch him as he grows.:)

Unfortunately, he's becoming really agressive in the last day or two. Three of my large angels have a lot of missing fins, and annoys my large 13" Polypterus Ansorgii hybrid. So got to put it up for sale, one of those live and learn mistakes I guess. If it only turned out to be a peaceful African Brown knife like I though it was. :(
