Just ordered him he is 3" and think it is a Coatesi and does anyone know anything about their temperment and if they can go with a 6" bgk

Same as other knives. It won't be aggressive toward your BGK. Might be the other way around. Your BGK gets much bigger than it. Plenty of hiding spots and decor. Great pick up! Not too many available from Peru at all.

Looks to me like a Gymnotus javari...likely from Western Peru.

Oooo he's cool! He should be fine with the BGK, BGK's don't get along with eachother but do well with other knives I have my BGK with my African knife and they are homies lol

both species are electric knives, and like all electric fish should not be mixed due to electrical interference, with all likelihood your knives will be aggressive towards each other and my money is on the Gymnostus SP.
