New Koi

Hey guys, just wanna know when a new koi carp would start eating, just got it yesterday...
its around 12'' big,
also wanna know how to hand feed it so please help me...

Give it a week. They stress when moved and it takes a li'l bit for them to calm back down.

Are you sure that feeding it a week later is better?, yesterday i tried feeding it but it took no notice so im worried

Continue to feed it daily but it likely won't eat for a week. It's nothing to fret about.

I just picked up quite a few koi and the day after I got them I started feeding them and they eat like crazy. If they don't eat it doesn't seem to be a big deal because they go all winter in ponds with out eating.

Hand feeding takes time as it needs to get used to you. Do you have it in a pond or tank?

i agree. give them some time. and let them settle down a bit. reduce any activities to ure tank. good luck.
