Hi everyone I am kinda new here but so excited I found this site. I am from small town Alberta and have a hard time finding anything to scratch the itch I have for large fish and large tanks. I presently have 3 tanks but I really want my next to be a big one in the 500 Gallon range. I have no resources locally available to me to figure any of the logistics out but when I accidentally stumbled across this site I was in heaven. I presently Have a rather Large(in my mind) Silver Arowana and some sharks as well as the wonderful crossbreads known as blood Parrots (dont shoot me) I have always been the type to do alot of research before jumping into anything but I always want to do it right the first time. What is the best means of filtration for such a large tank and light source. this is a fresh water setup. I read a bit of a post on Glass or acrylic tanks but all I got was a personal war it seems. remember I am not easy access to a city so everthing I need has to be shipped so it is a factor any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

If you have the capability, build the tank yourself. DIY w/d filter and shop lights will also cut down the cost. And welcome.

Yeah If you can't get to the city or have something delivered then go to the DIY section of this forum and get plans and a material list and go buy your own stuff and just build your tank.
