I have 2, theyre easily my favorite fish, if you look through my posts you can probably see me talking about them alot, their pretty easy to care for so theres not much that you need to know, I have 2 ones 6inches the other is close to 7 I feed them hikari floating carnisticks and omega one super colour pellets, id reccomend the super colour pelets for your little guy and moisten them in water, mine will occasionally eat flakes too. You could also feed ghost shrimp and guppys when hes bigger. If you want you could put a couple broad leaved plants in there if you want it wipl help bring him out more and he will all around be happier if you wanna know any thing else let me know

thanks for the help archers, i have read some of your post and they did help. im just wondering if i would be able too keep two of them in a 55 gallon or would they be too aggressive towards each other when older.

I have my two in a 55 no aggression now, they really spared at the beginning then I put in lotsa driftwood and plants now no aggression, I think you would be fine in a 50 with them as long as there is lots of places for them to hide, they can be aggressive at some times but mostly just leave eachother alone, and mine are almost as big as they come. Also I forgot to tell you in the first post stay away from really dense foods as they really hinder their digestive systems. What other fish do you have in the tank atm?

Rite now they are in a temporary ten gallon, I'm moving them to my 50 gallon which contains:
4 keyhole cichlids
1 fire mouth
3 scavenger loaches
1 zebra loach
1 Yoyo loach
1 kookoo catfish
I'm willing to get rid of any of them if they don't get along with my ctenopomas. I've been feeding them frozen blood worms, but if I can get them on pellets I have new life spectrum 3 mm sinking pellets
