I hope that it is not against the rules to promote a local LFS, but there is a new store in Tega Cay, SC, about ten minutes south of Charlotte.

The name is Reef Czar, and it is slighlty oriented more toward the saltwater side of the hobby, particularly coral, but the owner is a monster cichlid lover at heart, and he already has some nice fish. Among them:
  • A pair of true amph. trimaculatus
  • Grammodes
  • Argentea
  • Para. motaguense
  • A nice big midas devil
  • SA and jardini arrowanas
  • A nice male crenicichla saxatilis
I know that this recession has been hard on LFS, and I am happy to see a new store that has the cichlid enthusiast in mind.

Very good quality retailer if anyone is still interested. Bought some metae cories from them a few weeks ago and they took food as soon as they were in the tank and quickly fell in with the daily patrolling habits of my other cories. The owners name is Ash Hammett and the other guys name is Andy. Andy is the saltwater specialist their. Ash sells a lot of his own fry there (had about 20 red devil babies of his when I was there) and the rest of the fish are very good quality. Had several turquise blue flowerhorns there each about 3in long. Even had some electric blue jack dempseys that were not deformed in the slightest, someting that I have never seen before. Anyways the store seems to be a very high quality dealer and if you live in the Charlotte area you should definetely add this store to your list of LFS along with Fintastic.
