So i found out the original light i was using with my 50g (purchased second hand along with the tank) was definatly not meant for aquariums .. water damage blew it. That being said i need a new light not for my tank however i am on a budget. havent gotten out to check any stores yet .. only online. Best deal I can find to fit my tank (36") is $62 Cad shipping included which isn't bad I know. Just wondering if anyone knows of any better deals or a site that might have better deals etc.

ebay, craigslist...... sometimes even checking your classifieds in the sunday paper can offer some good finds
its up to you really. i'm guessing you need the light asap so for your needs, maybe paying that is well worth the convenience. its better than losing any live plants you have or having lethargic fish
coralife freshwater T-5 aqualights are the best bang for the buck for good lights on a budget.
