okay i bought a new light its a coralife mini aqualight t5 two bulbs one is aciatic i think is how you spell it and the other in a 10k white both 6 watts is this enough for a 8 gallon or should i also hook up a 6500k 13watt light would this be enough for zoanthids and ricordea

bump for help / anyone with advice at all i have no corals yet or fish i have just been letting my little tank cycle with live rock and any hitchickers that may apear i havent really found anything but what looks like a small clam kind of like a muscle... i have no idea where it came from but my live rock was sold to me as premium fiji , i am about 3 weeks in and have had diatoms form on the rocks and sand small bubble on the rock also it sits on top of the diatoms so i assume it is just gas and nothign harmful... not that it would really matter since nothign is in there but the weird little clam thing and he seems to be doing fine i found him in there a week ago and he looks okay

thank god someone posted i have been at work since 10am and been so bored trying to find information about the lighting but nothing has turned up but posts of people asking the same question with no answers lol so two of them or only 1

I have the T5 H.O. Lunar system by Coralife. Works very well and the mini aqualight should be perfect for an 8g

you should be fine with the corals you listed...however I do recommend that you use full reflectors with t5s...like on TEK brand lights., but you should be good with softies and such.
