Wow, the difference is astounding. I got the aluminum shop light from Walmart for $9.98 thats under $10. It is an overhang (they come in silver or white) that takes 2 bulbs, 32 watts each. The bulbs are 4 feet long and were under $10 too. So overall light is still under $20. I sectioned my 6 foot tank so that's why the light is off set a bit.

In order to see the difference here is the old 36" aquarium hood light. The pic is even taken with a flash to help luminate the inside

look really nice, going drop by walmart tomorrow see I can find one for my 7foot tank. are those bulb 6500k? my marineland led not bring enough, need something to grow plant

Just the regular lights walmart had there, they are the GE 'cooler' and not the 'warmer'. Also I glanced at the lumens and its 5400k. Its in a bluer spectrum

If your looking for 6500k go to home depot, its pretty cheap

Darn it, I should've went there for the lights then, oh well I have no plants anyways.
My 4foot 32watt T8 are good enough

I've decided I'm putting most of my light fixtures in my next tag sale and hope to buy the smallest cheapest LED light on the market with the profits.
