ok today i bought a new ight for my 75g reef tank so rght now i am running one aqua glo its a 48 '' the color is like redish pinkish and the new light is coralife actnic 7100k its blueish. what do you guys think? or should i change out the coralife actnic for coralife floresent 21,000k. i want to put anemomes like the type that the nemo fish go into and t grow benifical alge.

so stick with it or change it

if you have the lights i think your talking about, theres no way your going to be able to support anemones. Power Compact lights designed for reef keeping are the bare minimum that i would put an anemone under. T-5HO, MH and LED's are all good options.

are they the basic t-8 bulbs that come with the tank hood?? if so most coral will barely survive under those lights.

for your tank i would do this:

reason is because with 8 bulbs and each having its own reflector, is going to give you as much option as halides will. They create very little heat, which prevents temp problems and less evap. you have more options with bulb colors, for example a fellow reefer in my local club has 4 pure actinic bulbs, 1 10k bulbs, 1 12K bulb and 2 14K bulbs. Its a lot of blue yes, but his tank looks awesome. coral colors are brilliant and growth is outstanding with the extra stability in water chemistry without having to always top off the tank.
