well, you can expect for it to sound like an airplane is getting ready to take off in your living room! seriously, the fan is friggin LOUD!!!!!!!! but youll become numb to the noise after a while.

i have the 4ft one and its decent. i really dont like the reflector though. its really cheap and paper-thin. i dont think i would buy another Nova fixture. id rather stick with the Catalina Aquarium Solar fixture or give www.fishneedit.com a try with their lights.

How long is the one you got?

The one I have is for my 90 its 48" long. I probably should of asked you guys before I just impulsively bought it:D.....you know how that is. It was a good price and I have been wanting T-5 lighting for some time.

Im not sure there is no picture of that fixture you posted the link for.

Yeah, its a decent light, but now i wish i would have done my research. but im not worried, its just on my fish only 210. in fact, im only running one of the bulbs since two T5HO was too much light IMO.

BTW, here's the review i wrote for the Catalina Aquarium Solar fixture. see post #25. i got pics too :)

You can replace the fans in those with ones that spin at a little lower rpm, problem is the use such small fans which have to spin at crazy rpms to flow any real air.

Could I or should I run my two strip lights that I've been using for almost a year now along with the new T-5 fixture or should I just use the T-5 fixture. I know its going to be bright but I've been wanting better lighting for a long time now. I'm tired of hearing that my fish look like they came out of a creek because my lights suck.

with the T5s, you probably wont even be able to tell that your other lights are on! These things are seriously bright :D

LoL, well I do need to cut back on my electricity bill anyways.....:grinno: I'll probably end up just using the T5s solely that 10,000K bulb should be enough....:D
