live earthworms are your best bet to get a small lima eating, larger ones should take frozn shrimp, frozen tilapia, and massivore right away.

thanks. they are around 5in.
yes at that size i would highly reccomend live earthworms and limited aggressive tankmates :)

post a pic of your limas in the catfish media lounge. :D Oh and u can feed them frozen krill and blood worms and earth worms. GL

I haven't been able to get them to eat since I brought them home on sat. They seem to be doing fine just will not eat. I've been trying earthworms and shrimp pellets. None of the other fish are missing with them don't know what to do.

I have 7 lima catfishes. When I bought mine, it took about a month and that is when they started eating. Mine had to get used to the tank and the non living food that was given to them.

as a fail safe you might want to try pieces of raw fish. i always use that to start them off. salmon cut into little tiny pieces seems to work really well. freeze it so it floats and make sure the pieces are tiny, like 1/16-1/8 of an inch. i have used this for knives, cichlids, catfish, and even tetras. hope it works for yours.
