fish cave
i just got a 15 to 17 inch Polypterus ornatipinnis will post pics soon but i want to put a few other fir in the tank with him i want to do kinda lite planted tank and was wondering if there was any other fish i can put with him in the 125 that i will not have to move to a new tank after a few months. im pritty shour he can live the rest of his life comfy in this tank and id like to put a few friends in there as well was thinking a t-dat but thought i would ask before i drop 200$ on a fish

Nice fish dude! I have a 7 inch H. Tat for sale but he might be alittle small if your monster likes to eat fish.
 
thanks. any idea what i can put with this guy or am i stuck with just haveing him in there. i have a 6 inch brown needle fish would the ornate eat him i have herd mixed things on this fish so im not to shour about there temperment
 
What is the width on the 125? kind of small for an adult ornate.

That's a really good looking ornate too.
 
Bichirs are very individual. Some eat anything that fits in their mouth, some are very picky. A needle will typically stay at the top of the tank and bichirs hunt on the bottom. Keep him full on frozen food and you should be fine. I keep mine with a much smaller bicher and a couple Oscars and Jack Dempsey and some other stuff and everyone does just fine.

just a standerd 125 72x18x24. but i have a 220 that the fish that were in the 125 went to and will more then likely only be in for 3 or 4 months till i get the pond built. any info i can get on this guy would be awsome there dosent seam to be much on them here other then size and basic care.
