Just got this guy (clown knife) the other day he's only about 2-3 inches long and he's in a 20g till he grows a little cause my oscars will eat the food before he gets a chance to get any... Does anyone have any suggestions to food or tank mates for this little guy all ideas welcome!!

today, i purchased a 7 inch, good-sized and nice Royal Clown and a Blue Crayfish. i placed both in my 55 gallon with a 7 inch BGK and a 5 inch regular Clown Knife. I also have a small Senegal Bichir of about 4 inches and a Peacock Eel of about 7 inches. They're all doing well. I feed bloodworms, tubifex and also got the 3 Knife Fish to take cut up silver sides.

also, include plants and caves for hiding and be prepared to raise a fish that might reach 15 inches or so in aquaria. i have heard of some getting even larger.

will a clown knife this size eat live feeders like guppies or minos?

clowns usually swim around with their mouths closed, but when they open them, you realize just how big they are. you also recognize that they can consume prey of a considerable size. i have never had a 2-3 incher and as i stated, mine are all around 6 and 7 inches. i currently feed bloodworms and i have got them to take cut up silver sides. i would bet that mine can consume small, live red rosy minnows.
