was gonna wait a little longer to get back in the ray game but i couldnt walk away from the spotting on this little guy. sorry for the bad pics. still in the bag and bad glare (tank is in the worst spot in the house in regards to direct sunlight/algae)
target fed him some blackworms. he was a little slow to go to them but eventually tented over. pretty sure he was eating them but didnt want to turn the lights on. he then cruised around a little it before letting him go for the night. thinking it was a successful first night. we'll see. i just hope he keeps the same amount of spotting because its more than ive seen on most motoros.
in regards to water change schedules, is 25% daily too much?
he seems to be happy swimming along. seems to eat all the blackworms that i target feed to him though sometimes the squirter seems to scare him so he's a little slow to them. i'm just looking forward to him fattening. will probably hold my water change back one day to make sure he's acclimating nicely
he's eating all the blackworms i get to him. swims around searching constantly to the point im feeding 3-5 times a day. my plan is it go a few weeks on blackworms and then mix black worms and trout worms. i'll soak some small pellets in with the blackworms to see how he goes for that. so far i have kept the light off. he gets probably 6-8 hours of natural sunlight but i was figuring i'd give 1 week to acclimate before getting the light going on a consistent schedule. does anyone have any other ideas or is anything i'm planning not the best approach? thanks
one week in and he finally didnt bury himself when i put the lights on. always swims around when its dark but now out and about and eating with lights on. wish i could take a decent picture, these dont do him justice
