So. Cal
This may be the dumbest question ever, but I have to ask it.

Can loach spines make a clicking noise when they hit the aquarium glass?

I've never kept loaches before. Recently I picked up several burmese border loaches. They're really cute, but several times I've heard a distinct "click" on the glass whenever my loaches are chasing each other or swimming up the sides. I've never heard this sound coming from my tanks. I know they have a little switchblade under their eyes and I thought it was making sounds against the glass. It's either that or my tank is cracking.

Clicking noises are due to their moods. It's natural for them to do that.

They do click around especially when they're satisfied with their home.

It's their natural way of communicating as they establish a hierarchic order in the group.

I also so know they do it when they are happy and contented.

The clicking noise is from teeth in their throat. You'll hear it often when they are eating.

I can hear some of my bigger loaches form a ways away. Its funny when I have people over to my house and they hear it. They always look around looking for where its coming from and think there is something wrong with my tank.
