the Office living in the now...
Its been 3 days and my new loaches are not interested in any food I am serving.

These guys are 6-7" all wild caught not use to eating pellets, cucumbers yet. I put a mussel on a half shell but they still was not interested. Hopefully they will start eating.

Hey Bomber

Large CL need a long time to adjust and feel comfortable in a new tank. These are only MY suggestions from my experiences, so people don't criticize me. Mine have no hiding places, are feed massivore (although variety is important), and I just treated my tank with prazipro just in case of internal parasites. Their appetite has increased substantially, and have become very aggressive eaters, competing with my dats for food. Just my 2 cents, no one needs to take it. Good Luck, jumbo clown loaches are my favorite!

We need some pics of these guys. Just a question. I read on here some where that you could not get wild caught "straight from the river" CL that size because the export of cl's over 4" was banned. I do under stand that most cl are wild caught at some point or given hormones to reproduce. So were these wild caught and some else raised them to 6-7" or did you get the from the wild already that big?
And I have never had a CL turn down Blood Worms.

It can take up to 4-6 weeks for wild caught CL especially at 6+ inches to start taking flakes and pellets. Give them plenty of hiding spots and less lighting to reduce stress, try to feed blood worms or chopped up shrimp once a day. Mine started eating frozen food after two weeks and almost 6 weeks to take flake/NLS pellets.

Thanks, I will have to be patient. I will add photos when I have time. Til then, enjoy my dog bomber the bulldog in my sig :D

I'd second the treatment of parasites. Anything coming in over 4" will take awhile to get use to. some people get lucky while others like me, are better off raising small ones, :)
It's funny people suggest hiding places, mine hid and hid and starve and died!

my advice would be to keep them in a tank by themselves, provide some hiding places, warm water 82+, low light, and try blood worms. :) gL

I will treat them this week.

Would love to see pics/vids of these big loaches...

And nice progress on your blackies and friends community tank. Good job!

Nice B-day treat for your Bomber. I was hungry when watching those fillets being pan-grilled... :)

I will have to shoot a short flick of the loaches.

Have you gotten them to eat yet? In order for the medication that you are using to work, they have to ingest it.

If you continue having problems, you will need to purchase Levamisole and follow the rigorous maintenance schedule to help get them eating, and once they are eating, treat with the Fenbendazole again.
