New Malawi Themed 55 Gallon Aquarium

It's filtered by an Aquaclear 110 (500 gph) and I was wondering if 3 electric yellow cichlids would be alright in it. There is also an Elive aquaduo filter (114 gph) that I plan to use on it. Any advice and feedback is greatly appreciated!

As long as you cycle it correctly labs would fine. Even more than 3, try 3 males with 9 females or mix 1m3f with another species or 2 with the same ratio. 55 gallons is a good size to use for less aggressive cichlids.

Good starter tank. It will make a great sump for the 240 gallon. You will get sooner than you think.

The AC110 will give you close to 10x per hour turnover so that is adequate. A second filter, if you have it, is nice though. With two running, if one quits you have filtration.

This is good advice. I have aquaclears that sometimes don't restart after a power outage, so having a second is a good idea.

I bred yellow labs years ago in a 55 gallon, filtered by two AC 500's (old school 110's) I agree with James, start with more, 3 males, several females.
