hi all ray keepers!

i did get my first rays about a half a year ago. they where 2 little reg motoros that almost new born in size of 4". now they are almost 8".

then i deside to order me a WC "king marbled" orinoco river pair from a exporter in colombia.
did order the size of 8"+. when they did arrive for 2 weeks ago, it was 3 males of right size (1 was DOA) and a little female of only 5".
so now i have a extra male, that i have no use for and a smal female.
the males was skinny and did see the pelvic bones, the female was fat. they did start to eat eart worms after a couple of days, now they eat all i put in the tank. so they are starting to put on some weight now:) they live in a 900 liters tank.

in the bag on arrival

the female is very active, she is high and low in the tank all the time. she is very difficult to take a good picture of becouse she almost never stand still.she is a agressiv feeder and dont hesitate to bite the other rays to get the food.

man i wish i could find some cheaper rays...........also can someone tell me what the smallest species of ray is?

logg deg gjerne inn på akvaforum også , har er trå der som heter rokke prat, trenger flere aktive på norske forum , fine rokker du har....

i also think hystrix is ond of the smallest..

takk frbe. skal ikke se bort i fra at jeg logger meg på akvaforum.

The cheapest and smallest i think is the retic, but they are a lot harder to get to eat. Nice setup love marbles :)

They look good, curious to why you think you have no use for the other male? The chance of rays breeding is a lot lower then you would think so just enjoy them for what they are. I have found through owning lots of rays that the males tend to look better than the females so he might end up being a knock out.

Also it is unfortunate the other ray died. From the looks of the pic those 2 marbles were to large to ship 2 to that size box. You were lucky they both did not die.

i thought that it was hard to be her when it was nearly two mature males and a she is much smaller.
i have read that the pattern on marbleds can change,so i will keep them for a good while .

was realy lucky that they all did not die becouse they where delayed with 24hour in a a country before they arrived, and at they where packed in to small bags.
