We blew 2 fuses and i never thought to check on my tank and my new marineland 400 is not working now, i checked it like 4 or 5 hrs later when i came up and noticed it wasnt moving..... So is the motor fried now? The guy said there was 15 days to take it back, but it think it is passed 15 days now, and besides i cut the filter intake tube so it wouldnt suck up my sand.

Now i guess i dont have a filter on my 55g for the night, tomorrow i am going with my parents shopping and i only have 98$ left, so by monday i will hve almost 400$ , if it is brocken i might just get a F****** sump!

Im hoping that if i have it unplugged it will cool off and will work again

ANY IDEAS?!?!?!?!?!?

I have had that problem after shutting it off for water changes. I usually have to take the impeller out and clean the chamber that it sits in. After that it starts up again.

try taking out the impeller and cleaning it, i had a problem with my ehiem 2013 it went really slow and was not doing much so i cleaned the impeller and the clogged up pipe and now it works like a charm :)

IT WORKS!!!! i am so releaved right now as i was going with my parents to get a firemouth and a convict cichlid today and i thought this messed up my plans.

I do still have the filter that came with the 55g and it just stopped like that, but where the cord goes into the filter it was dripping water and i didnt know how to fix it. any ideas how i could get it to stop?

If it's dripping where the pump/motor attaches to the body of the filter, it may be that the pump/motor is not seated just right. You should be able to twist the pump/motor off and re-attach it, making sure you get the proper seal.
