Hey all I just bought a 44 gall tank (36x24x12) with a stand. The stand is a black painted wood? (or oak not to sure) stand with open top.

If I wanted to keep this stand and get a larger tank with those same dimensions how can I test the stand to know if it can support the weight of a 90 gallon tank before going out to put big bux down on that kind of tank?

if you can sit on it, then it should hold. just look at how it is constructed and think if it looks sturdy or not.

Its been holding up a 44 gallon fine for about 2 years. so thats about 440lbs.

what are the dimensions? 36 = long, but is it 12 tall or 24 tall?

Sorry
36long x 12 wide. The tank sits flush on top of the stand.

The tank is 24" Tall and the stand is about 48" Tall

Is there a manufacturer's name or mark on it? Contact them fo rthe best answer since your more than doubling it's capacity.
