Hi there,
it's great to find so much information about keeping big fish. I live in Taiwan but am an expat Brit who doesn't speak too much Chinese. I recenly purchased a 250 Gallon tank having fallen for some Cichlas I had seen and having become so fed up keeping Frontosas that always seemed to be substandard. I thought buying Cichlas meant buying wild only, but now I discover that Kelberries are bred here and possibly other variants including some cross bred varieties. How can I tell whether I am getting a real wild caught fish or something that has been farm bred a few miles away? The LFS here seem pretty unscrupulous when trying to make a sale. Any advice welcomed, at present I have 4 Kilberries, one cross [which is really quite beautiful] and one small unidentified possible blue cichla.
