So I just acquired this new CL from a friend getting out of the hobby. She said they had a few others and after a wc they all were gasping and eventually died. This one however survived. She understands that they are schoalers and said it would be happier with mine. I was happy to oblige.
I figure it looked like it could use some tlc but I don’t have a big enough qt tank set up available so I dumped it right into Gen pop. I know it’s risky but I am prepared to do what is necessary to make sure it can be healthy.
I’m not sure about the hole in the side of its face. Is that a sign of some sort of parasite or something? My wife insists it was wild caught with a hook. I highly doubt it myself, but honestly that’s what it looks like. It seems to be too far forward to be from the bifurcated subocular spine.
It also seems to have a slight line on its head similar to the skinny disease but is already eating well so if I need to treat it for worms might need to get on it ASAP while it is still eating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also one last thing it seems to have some lines that are faded out on its black stripes. Does that happen from bad water quality or poor health.
