Hi I just got a 125 gallon tank, the last day or so it is gotten very cloudy is it possible to have to much gravel in my tank? All I got goin is a underground filter. My gravel is very dirty . is that whats causin the fog sincerely honest abeHonest Abe :cry:

yup this very well could be the problem..
You should rinse this and all things before you put them in the tank.
even your carbon filter cartridges cloud the tank if not rinsed,, but a million other things could be going on.

Do you have fish in the tank/?

your tank is cycling im sure, can you give me more info?

what are your water parameters?
Where did the gravel come from??

an undergravel filter doesnt really "filter" it just helps to rotate the water so the whole tank gets filtered....you need a cannister or HOB.....to get the chemical and bio filtration going.

Never trust most LFS people, many dont know what there talking about an only want you to buy more stuff. IMO undergravel filters can be more trouble than there worth, They really only help the biological filter an move water a bit depending on it you have air stones or powerheads on the uplift tubes. You really should have either a canister filter or a Power filter on the tank.
 
Yep, get a power filter. This will take care of it.
 
the guy at the fish store was an idiot go smack the sh*t outta him/her for setting you up for failure. get a good cannister filter
