Hey everyone, just a shout out and introduction.
As I was looking at winter coming on and considering how to best occupy myself after a hernia surgery , I thought hmmm it's looking like a good time to put all this glass back into service.

I've been a hobbyist since childhood, grandma helped me start my 1st setup which we made by taking 2 x gallon glass carboys to the local glass cutter to remove the top so as to use them for an aquarium.

I remember he said, bring 2, as long may break one of them. 😉
Glad we did as that's how it worked out!

We ended up with some guppies and a male betta & plenty of plants with a box filter.

Guess I've been hooked (ha ha) ever since!

So as life has allowed when I've needed the tranquility and peacefulness that can be enjoyed, I always have setup several larger sized tanks to enjoy the beauty and harmony of nature to pass my time.
I've certainly found the aquarium screen to be the antithesis of this digital world. One which is very soothing and not trying to make me angry or distracted by affairs I have no part in.
I hope many others will choose this or other life producing ways to focus their attention on.
It beats by far any alternative available.

So, Im relearning and remembering things that have been put away for some time, and learning new things I've yet to understand as I get all this glass set up and running a stable environment.

PS, I've already discovered how much I'd forgotten and how much more I need to learn!

Looking forward to getting to know are few of you here.
