Hello all.. Been hovering around here for the past year and finally decided to create an account here. I am a frontosa breeder. I came from cyphos.com. Still there but wanted to expand.

240 Gallon Acrylic with Stand Pipe Overflows. 40 Gallon Sump and 2 AC110.
15 Wild Caught Mpimbwe 4M/11 Females and 3 Geophagus Surinamensis.

They are fed every other day with NLS THERA A or live red worms or Frozen Brine Shrimp w/ Spirulina. 5 Large females breed every 2 months like clockwork producing around 40-50 frys. 4 females are still learning to hold and 2 are not fully mature for breeding.

35% Water Change 1-3 a month with some aquarium salt and prime.

Nice colony! Do you strip or let nature take it's course? How long do you let them hold if you strip?

For 3 of the females.. i let them hold until the fry are full swimming frys then i strip her so i can put them in the grow out tank. For the others i strip after 5 days and do artificial tumbling.

Did you buy these fish small? How many years before they were breeding? I'm asking cause I just got some of these. I'm thinking thinning out all males and getting a large male or two from a different line when the time comes.

THanks,
Dave
