Hello Everyone. I've been away from the forums for some time.... The new store is taking most of my time and I'm still holding down my original job. Fortunately I have an employee starting next month who will help me handle much of the work so I may be able to spend some more time here.
We had 9 more motoro pups on 3-28-09. This brings our total to 127 captive bred motoros since we started.
We've done some shifting lately and our breeding systems are composed like this:
System One has 4 regular female motoros and 2 regular males. All 4 females have had multiple litters of pups. This is our most productive system and contains our oldest and most established rays. Currently 3 of the females are pregnant.
System Two has 2 marble male motoros, 2 marble female motoros, and 3 regular female motoros. We are expecting marble pups soon as one of the marbles is pregnant.
System Three is at the store (Systems one and two are at my home). System Three has two regular motoro males that used to be is System Two (they were moved out to ensure the female marbles were only bred by male marbles). We're still working on beefing up the filtration on this system and will add females when this is done.
Here's a pic of some of the new pups:
