New native setup!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Notes: it filtered for a week but the water is still green.... mabye because of the plants/wood?

The smaller one has an injury on its tail i bileve...mabye from big one nipping at it?

Questions: would they nip a pelco to death if i put one in there? how about a bullhead?

What can i feed them besides earthworms?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They are two baby green sunfish in it right now. its a 75 gallon and i am planning on putting a LMB in there.

Hmmm, the water shouldn't have been green in the first place, so I can't help you there.
Oh, unless you added water from where you got them?

They shouldn't bother a pleco. They won't even pay attention to a bullhead unless it's tiny enough for them to eat. Even then they might ignore it.

Is there light from a window that hits it? I had a tank do that before. I kept doing water chnages and blocked the light from hitting it.

For the cleaning, what type of cleaning? Like algea cleaning, or left over food?

I say its your driftwood in the tank, it will change your water colour and lower your ph unless you had it soaking before and kept changing the water so that the driftwood would those its "colour adder" , Other then that nice tank, whats in it if you dont mind me asking? :naughty:

yea i thought it might have been the driftwood too...thanks. just 2 green sunnys and when they get bigger im gonna put like a 5-6 inch LMB in there and perhaps a bullhead or pelco.

hmm thats odd because it is tap water.... would a pelco do more cleaning then a bullhead?

A pleco would clean the algae better than a bullhead (they wont eat it at all) but why not keep the tank all native? Maybe get a crawdad or two for scavengers (they will eat plants if you have them in the tank though) and some pond snails to control the algae. Also, if you want to keep live plants, the bullhead will also tear them up.

Okay...but if i got the snails wouldent the bass eat it? and how fast do the green sunfish grow? when can i put the bass in the tank without it eating the little sunnys?
