Okay help me.. I don't know a thing about these guys and a fish store owner going out of business gave him to me..said she kept him in an outdoor pond..and that he was about 5 years old.. what is their life expectency?? he is beautiful.. so i want to do my best to keep him around.. we put him in our gold fish pond last week ..he seems to be doing well..but how cold can the water get before it is dangerous to him..we ussually bring our gold fish in to another pond in the basement early October.. what does he eat that would be okay to throw in the pond with goldfish.. something like shrimp pellets that would go to the bottom?? any info would help..thanks
