he also took a bit out of my big texas right on his 4 head freaked the tex out so it snapped bull dozed all the decor to 1 side

Ornate is most aggressive bichir I have kept, you might need to take it back. Odd that it would start this even at such a small size.

Fish have individual personalities, yours probably has a bad temper.

My smallest at 8" Ornati used to be like this, he would snap at my other larger 10" Ornati and they would start fighting and posturing for 5minutes snapping at fins and head.

But now i seldom see him doing it anymore, he probably got beat and seldom tries to bully any other fish.

Back then he even tried to bite my Endli at 14", the endli snapped back and he never went near my endli again, my endli is the boss of the tank, all my Poly move away when he comes near.

other than minor torn fins they should be ok,

try to feed fish fillet.

that what happend to my albino and sen my sen would always beat up on my albino but only when the albino would go near it the ornate chase them all over the tank and dosnt stop till it gets a bite

its probably being territorial, if you have a spare tank move the ornati for a couple of days 4 to 7, then move him back the tank, that should stop him from feeling that he owns the tank, he will feeling like being the new guy in the tank again.

I have had two ornates and they were both like that they would chase other bichirs or some fish around biting them. I had to get rid of them.
