New Ornate. Sex?

Hi guys, some photos of my new ornate.

I want to get it a mate. Can somebody help me identify the sex? I still haven't gotten the hang of sexing bichirs.

I'm thinking female. The fin looks pretty small.

If im not mistaken, the best pic for sexing is if you can get him swimming and a pic of the little fin under his tail.

it's a young ornate i think ... due to the relative big eyes and over-all dimensions of its body. But it looks like it is a male - the shape of the anal fin is quite male ...

Sorry for the low quality photos... with my budget camera i can only take photos while my bichir is not moving.

Do male ornates tend to grow thicker and shorter then females?
I saw two other ornates at the LFS that are longer and have a smaller girth, hoping these are females.
