New Ornate

Just picked me up a nice sized ornate he’s about 10" found him about an hour away paid 50 for him he’s missing an eye but he seems to be doing real well he’s swimming quite a bit had to move my small ornate and retro back to their 65 as soon as the retro got near him he had half his head in his mouth so i don’t want to take a chance he does not seem to have really nice bright colors as my small ornate does he kind of looks a little whitetish could it just be that its stressed or do they kind of loose their colors as the get older.

Ornates colors tend to be more vivid when they are smaller, so don't be too concerned.

nice fish looking into getting one myself are they hard to care for?

they are easy to care for and will get big! i have seen a few 2 half feet long so yea. just need a lid with no holes and it to be tight fitting.

yeah they do get big and it they seem to grow quickly my little ornate whom ive only had for about two weeks has allready passed my little retro who is probably 4.5 to 5"

Very nice!! Where did you find the fish? Was it an hour north or south?

south in Marion picture perfect pets they had a 2" one for sale still.
