New Ornate

So I went to the LFS the other day looking to buy a couple new cichilids but I saw this beauty in the store and had to have it... its really small at the moment but I am excited to see it grow!!! Any advice for a first time ornate owner?

Your ornate is sure to become your favorite.

Mine at that size loved blood worms, beefheart, diced smelt and hikari carnivore pellets.
Amazing growth to 11inches in less than a year.

lovely little ornate. they are one of the fastest growing bichirs. my newest grew from 5" to 15" in less than a year. congrats.

I got it at Tropiquatics in Lombard. It was only 25$ which was nice. If you are looking for hard to find cichlids they have a nice selection.
