New O's!!!

My roommate brought these two home. He said that they were wild caught. I already have two O's but he said these look different than the ones we see at our Lfs. Pics are from my phone. Excuse the quality cause these two are really skittish.

theyre actually more yellow/gold. I purchased O's from petsmart and I know what you're talking about. I can definitely see the horizontal line even at 2". These guys are 3" and not losing any color at all even when stressed. My roommate said that they were so skittish in the store but when I put them in my QT with some giant danios as dithers they werent skitish even with me moving in front of the tank and ate right away.
 
They look like Orinoco Oscar's, not sure if they are wild, no real way to tell other than taking the word of the seller. Either way, good looking O's.
 
Every once in a while petsmart and lfs get a batch of these and label them black oscars. Its always the same nice blAck color with yellow stripes and no orang at all. I love this coloration and recently picked up one too. It does resemble the wild coloration but who knows unless your friend trusts the guy that sold it to him.

Well we do buy from that guy a lot. It wasn't expensive too. Got it for 15 bucks a pop and he gave us 25% discount. There's 2 more left and I'm tempted to get them cause they look different from the O's I usually see in stores.
