Well Ive recently given serious thought to gettin away from the more aggressive fish and putting some less nasty fish in the 180. Today at my lfs i noticed a beautiful orange/albino oscar getting the hell beat out of it by a big midas. Thay were in a `125 but tyhe midas just was relentlessly beatin this poor fish. I said to the owner I would take the fish for free before it died. he agreed ! hes missing many scales on his sides and one of his fins is a bit torn, I hope he makes it. temps at 82 and got some salt in, hes seperated from the rough crowd, whish by the way are for sale!

nice looking o

hope he pull through for ya

Hope it works out,,,,my oscars got beat up other day by my vieja REAL BAD Much worse than that,,,selling the vieja and hoping one of the oscars pulls through, other oscars just got battle scars

He does look a bit stressed, but I think he should pull through. The salt should help w/coat. Keep an eye out for fungus.

oscars are among the toughest as fish go. from the looks of yours he should have no problem making a full recovery!!

Good luck with your new O! I started a thread yesterday that is pretty much identical to yours-- I rescued an O at the LFS who was being beat up by RDs. Guess it's a common finding. :-(

well hes been in the tank for 4hrs and is already begging for food, just ate 3 hikari pellets! Oscars are what got me into cichlid keeping and I must admit Im very happy to have one again, too bad they have lost there desiarableness? due to being so common

The neat thing re: Oscars is that they get like dogs. Always begging, always wanting attention...

nice save! a fish always seems to be a little more special to you when you rescue one. it sounds like you are doing everything right and i hope he pulls through for you! good luck to the both of you!
