I bought 2 new Oscar's yesterday from our lfs. The tiger oscar is doing awesome but the red that i purchased is not eating and is laying around. Can't figure out if hes just stressed out and needs more time to take to the tank or if something is internally wrong with him. The tank has been set up for over two yrs with mbuna cichlids but I removed them, did a 50% water change, checked water perimeters picked the Oscar's up and let them go in the tank. Tanks 90 gallons I'm turning the tank 10 times an hour and have a sponge filter. Only thing I can think of is the ph is still a little higher than I would like it to be but it's just weird the tiger is doing so well.

Likely needs some time to settle down. Would wait it out as long as ur water is clean.

That's what I'm thinking. My ph is around 7.6 from having my mbuna's living in the tank before hand.I'd like to get it down to 7.0-7.2 , nitrite and ammonia is surprisingly a perfect 0.0 , nitrates at 20ppm gonna let them relax for the night and probably do another 50% tomorrow and try to get the ph down a little more.

yup give time, an FYI your PH is fine. not something you need to worry about with your oscars. keep an eye on the slugish one, esp its poopies.

Yewwwwhe ate his pellets. He deff has taken to his new home. Thank you for the input. Hopefully I will have a new filter system built for my 150g setup before June and they will be able to grow out comfortably. Heres a pic of there tank now sorry for the cluster when I took the mbuna's out I took the rocks out to clean them and just quickly put them back in.1365424
