i got this big guy yesterday i think he has hith i am wondering how to treat this i have read to just keep the water clean but what about treating with meds what will work for this

you can perhaps try some metronidazole, but good water quality is the key

where can i get this metronidazole i know it's in api cure would that work?

keep up with water changes.. keep down his stress ...and feed varied diet.. most important 3 things..from the pic he looks pretty good... good luck to you..

Good filtration is another key. And make sure to have a test kit to measure water parameters.

A pretty safe treatment would be to add salt (per directions on the box) and increase the temperature to a least 86F. Plus lots of water changes.

well he is still eating so i did a 60%wc and got my nitrates to 10 my ammo is 0 nitrites 0 ph7.4 i'll test everyday and when it hits 20 i'll do another wc probly every other day

that should be good.. just keep checking it.. and you will be fine..lots of luck with him..

petsmart will ave meds to help with hith. bump the temp, add some meds and salt to help it out. keep up with w/c ever day(30%) or every other day(>30%)
