I got a new Oscar today, it was labeled as Medium Tiger Oscar and is around 3.5-4 inches long. The only thing is it is super red, much more than the smaller and even the large oscars that were at the LFS, and there is no complete spot near the tail which is found in Tiger Oscars. Normally I would think Red Oscar, but it has far too much of an actual pattern compared to the spongy pattern on Red Oscars. Please let me know what you think it is and leave your opinion!

This isn't all that uncommon. If you do an image search for "tiger oscar," you will find several with similar coloration. Looks very nice though; it will be interesting to see how its color develops as it grows.

I think that is probably just something your lfs came up with to sell more oscars. I've never heard such a name given to oscars and can't find any reference to "red dragon" oscars online.
