I have been researching rays, and decided to get one. I have owned different Monster Fish over the years, i.e.
Arowana
, Red Tail Catfish, Knives, etc..

I have a 3" reticulated stingray in a 20 Long, I have a sizable filter immersible heater, and a pond pump that I had to create current in the tank. I have him in there for now until I put him in my 55gal community tank.

I am looking to build a very cost
efficient
tank/pond to house a Reticulated Stingray, Silver Arowana, Red Tail Catfish, and a Lima Shovel nose. All these fish are quite small right now. All under 6". Red tailed cat is 3" Arowana is 5" and Shovel nose is 6".

Anybody know any good links for home built tanks and filtration systems?

My red-tailed catfish died. It had one of his whiskers bitten off by my ornate bichir, I treated the tank with melafix and turned the light off for a couple of days for him, but he died anyway. So, the only current monsters, or monsters to be, are silver aro, clown knife, Ray, and a couple of loaches. I am looking into a pond system until I build a 540 gal tank in my house.

I don't mind having a conversation with myself so, I'll post again..

My ray is doing fine. He's already growing. I hand feed him blood worms, and beef heart. He also nibbles on some massivore pellets. I think I'm going to need the pond by spring. I'm thinking of building the ray tank, in the DIY forum. I;m just not quite sure what or how I'm filter the tank with. Any ideas???

I hate the talking to myself posts, sucks bout your rtc, best temp housing I saw was my buddy bought a like 210 gallon hard pond shell at home Depot and used wood to support the shelves witha fluval fx5 bad ass setup cept dry air puls massive surface area equals massive evap but check the pond shells out think his was bout 100 bucks and i even told him id build a frame round it sand under it and make a ray tank. but on my own note whered you pick up the massivore pellets cant find em at my lfs but I have checked petco or petsmart??

if u were lookin for a monster setup, i woulda went with a different ray. retics grow the slowest and stay mainly the smallest. usually maxing out at less then half the size of other rays. very cool rays none the less and glad yours is eating. mine took a crap on me cuz he wouldn't touch any food... good luck with ur setup

I got the massivore pellets from a lfs. I'm glad to hear retics are the smaller of the rays. that means I'll probably stick with them. Anybody know what a guyana ray looks like/ size, etc?? Seen one on a list and can't find any images.
