Where eva theres Cichla!!!
Hey guys,

I went to my LFS yesterday and as i walked up stairs, i glanced at a tank and to my suprise it was full with p.bass, being me i had to have 1 so i bought one...i currently have it in my parents community tank, for it's only like 5 cms in length, what i was wondering is what water conditions do they prefer? what food's dop they prefer and wat not..any information would be greatly appreciated! :)

Pbass thrive in a lower pH (5.3-7.0). They need a large tank and they grow about 1" a month until they get to around 12". Then they start to slow down.

Also high temps are a must 83-86. Little ones some times are prone to Ich. So add some salt to the water right away to avoide that.

When they are small, they are hard to convert to non live food. Minnows and roseies are the best until you get them eating pellets or frozen shrimp...

ah ok, so even at 5 cms in length i should be feeding it feeders? and i cant add salt cause it my parents communty tank.. :( looks to be very healthy tho

if they eat it, feed feed feed

Ya, feed it what ever it will eat. Convert off live food for best results. I feed mine market shrimp.

Yeah, my little guy will eat pretty much anything. Even if he doesn't swallow it down he will at least try it. Bloodworms seem to be my guy's favorite too though.
