Hey everyone,

Haven't been here in awhile.. is there any New P# Index or Taxonomy Classifications? I noticed they finally nominated a species for Tiger Rays, was just wondering if anyone had some links for what's new?

Thanks!!

Hey stranger glad to see you pop in. I have not seen anything in writing but there were a couple of guys a year or so ago saying that all castexi were now classified as falkneri but I did not see the write up on that.

Hey Miles, good to see you're still around. As fishdog said, there was some work on the castexi group. I thought there was a link to a paper on the subject posted here.

I personally think there are significant external differences with both Tigers and Flowers for them to be placed in a genus all by themselves. Disc shape, relatively small eyes placed high up on the mantle, the tail shape which is long and broad at the stock, plus take a look at the shape of the spiracle, all these traits are mirrored in both species.

Very nice to see your name back on this Stingray forum Miles, your contributions have been missed by many on here.
