Hi All,

I recently purchased 2 x 15cm NTT I have had them in the tank for 4 days and they are both yet to eat, All they do is hide and occasionally come out for a swim. They were fat and healthy when I purchased them eating blood worm and hikari pellets. My water parameters are

PH 7.02
Ammonia 0.0
Nitrate 0.0
Nitrite 0.0
Temp is 29 Degrees C

Should I be concerned or is this normal for Dats when being introduced to a new tank ? There only tank mates are a L190, common bristle nose and a earth eater. All fish are smaller than the Dats.

they might just be adjusting to the tank. if they're healthy they can go a few weeks without food. as long as your water parameters are good they should be alright. may help to keep the lights off for a few days

Completely normal behaviour. Leave lights on a timer, don't change your routine or feed excessively hoping they will eat.
They will eat eventually when hungry.

My eight inch NTT for 8weeks ate about 4 prawns and 3 lance fish. So in 8 weeks he ate on only 3 occassions!!!
Now week 9, he eats prawns when ever I feed. Persistance and patience pays off with tigers.

How big is your tank? And how do u get nitrates to 0?

Cheers for the info bro, The tank is a W5 x H 2.5 x D 2 I think its 224 Gal
The tank has only been fully cycles for 3 months with limited fish and excessive amounts of filtration, I do however find that my 10 foot Bass tank it also has 0 Nitrates and all I can put it down to is the amount of Matrix I use for filter media and 30% WC each week IMO Matrix is the best media money can buy.

WooooHoooo My guys finally ate some prawn and bloodworm today I'm so stoked :grinno::grinno:
