Well, there was a tank full of these guys at an LFS for a little while... nobody was buying them. They were there about a month. I dont think anybody knows what they are (crenicichla is really on the downlow up here). Had to have some, haha. Picked them up a few days ago.

They are both around 2.3 inches long, the male might be around 1/2" longer than the female. The female knew was was up and had no problem posing, the male was hiding in the pipe, lol.

Without further adue!

The male is as colourful as the female, he just doesn't have the spots.

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,

Chris

beautiful fish with great potential!

Thanks!

Umm... well I use R/O water in ALL my tanks and tons of driftwood, do tons of regular water changes and feed frozen as well as pellets, so thats a start. I have to work my way down in tanks a bit first and finish setting up all my plumbing so my waterchanges are simple (about half my tanks are switches and valves right now)... then I'll probably try my hand at it. I also have a pair of Parachromis friedrichsthalli that are paired (but devided at the moment) and Crenicichla johanna that I plan to attempt pairing. We'll see how those go.

Anyways too much info. But yes, eventually will give it a shot!

Cheers,

Chris

Well today a few hours after I fed them the male was doing a little dance for the female. I didnt really have time to watch (busy moving stuff) but I did notice it going on... so looks like even with minimal effort/deviation from my normal habits I should be able to induce spawning :)
