Here are some pictures of my new payara which I'm 99% sure is a Hydrolycus scomberoides. I was surprised to find one in an LFS, but they apparently have had it for over a year or two and I hadn't noticed it! It's about 7" long and is very tenacious; it latched onto the net at the LFS when it was being removed from its aquarium and did the same when I was transferring it to my aquarium.

I apologize for the algae on the glass; I need to get a new scraper.

Nice! I have been looking for scombs for a while now. I only seem to get rhaphiodon vulpinus in my area though.

Interesting; I have never found those fish in an LFS.

I was pretty surprised to find this fish in an LFS near me plus I'm pretty glad that they had it for at least a year so I know that it shouldn't end up being the "2 week scombs" that I have read about.

Very nice pick up! My LFS also has one that a maybe grabbing shortly.
