It's been a long time since I've visited here (I've had to suffer through the tough job of traveling in Southeast Asia and fishing for mahseer, snakehead, catfish and others - you know, somebody's got to do it). I see there has been a real flourishing of Cichla photos and ID information on the site. This is a real font of important information. Since my return, I've been working on a blog -http://peacockbass.wordpress.com - to try to clarify for anglers that there are different species of peacock bass with very different characteristics. My motivation is not entirely selfless, since I operate trips for C. temensis in Brazil. (http://www.acuteangling.com/) It's in my best interest that anglers be knowledgeable about the species of Cichla so that they can select trips based not on hype, but actual species available. In any event, I've attempted to make the blog useful to all peacock bass aficionados. Its first few posts focus on field ID and taxonomic information. In order to keep anglers interested, I'll be inserting fishing tactics and techniques on periodic posts, however, the ID thread will be ongoing as the blog progresses. Please have a visit and let me know your thoughts and suggestions. I want to post the most useful material possible, both on the blog and on our site's ID section -

I look forward to your contributions and suggestions
