new peacock bass

i recently got my first peacock bass the other day and im still not sure what kind it is. its about 3.5'' and looks like these guys

it was sold to me as a temensis but i dont know if thats what it is. how long does it take for the color/pattern to develop? should i be seeing spots at that size on the temensis?

Its not a temensis for sure.. im thinking cichla mono, but it could be a cichla ocellaris..nuce oics with the fish out of the mouth..

IMO they are monos.

i dont know if it makes a difference, but the one i have has yellow eyes, not like the red ones of the guys in the pictures

Not at that size... They are probably monos

Tems will have a horiontal stripe going down their body.
