I went to Petsmart last nite and was browsing around at the fish attempting to find a Senegal bichir since my LFS says it will be another week or two before they can get one in for me :screwy: But anyway while I was there a young kid got a single Peacock Eel dipped out and bagged up. I didnt think much of it...I did that alot when I was a kid. But apparently mom thought the eel was disturbing and made good little johnny lay the bag with the fish still in it down on a shelf while they left the store. I was browsing fish food about 10ft away, amazing how people openly just dont give a **** about an animal in public. I could have just taken the little guy back to the attendant, but the poor little eel looked a little banged up and I figured why not...they dont grow horribly large, and besides hes a nice looking little fellow and would probably do well with my soon to be bichir. So I now have a 3-4" Peacock eel quarintened into a 10G tank. He seems to be no worse for the wear of being in a bag for about 12hrs and, he really seems to be enjoying the fine layer of sand on the tank. Poor thing has tried to burrow a few times but sadly I didnt give him enough sand to do so. :D

Then you have to add more sand to satisfy him.:)

its been done...he has a good inch or so of sand now...and is content with having half his body covered up in it :P

some people just think that someone will find it good thing you did i saw the same thing happen to a bunch of goldfish but they had been there for a while all floaters but nice save they are cool fish if you can get them to eat

I tried some sinking HBH soft pellets this morning...he went over and seemed to sniff them but then went away. I figure Ill starve him a day or two and try some frozen bloodworms and see how that goes :)
