i caught a perch and put it in with my comet goldfish, its doing great but i want to know what else they eat. i have been feeding it nightcrawlers because thats what i caught it on.

once he gets big enough you could feed him crayfish
try a mix of worms and some kind of meaty substance, im surprised your not having any luck feeding they will eat anything, he must be very stressed out, how big of a tank?

How big is the fish and how big is the tank? I've never had any trouble getting them to eat. Try different foods... What tankmates are in there? he could just be stressed. Give it a few days and try turning off the lights. The ones I've kept always liked the shaded parts of the tank, or in some plant cover.
