New pet

well today i was walking my dog at my local park..which has a lake in the middle...so i decided to walk along the path near the lake...well my dog was sniffing and she found a small like critter house for small animals..so i was like leave it alone..but she kept sniffing it ..so i picked it up and inside was a freaking sugar glider..i quickly grabed it and rushed to my car...know here i am with a sugar glider, its a large male...with one eye is completely blind but the other is fairly fine..looks irrated..he is eating an apple slice like theres no tomroow im gonna go get him some grubs and wat not know....but wat should i do to treat the eye..i plane on taking him to the vet to get him check..he looks a litte beaten up but other then taht..he looks good..so wish me luck..and ill keep ya posted..i cant believe some people these days...:irked::irked::irked::irked:
 
I want a sugar glider so bad, I'd set up a lil forest in my room like vines and branches going from wall to wall :).

good luck with it, and you should take it to the vet asap incase it has a disease and what not.
 
yeah i know ..i just dont have the money to bring it..so luckily i have experience ill bring it this weekend
 
Yea I wouldn't treat it with anything on your own, I rush it to the vet so they can treat it right and make sure it's eyes are the only things wrong with it.

They are awesome little creatures, post pics when he's feeling better!
 
Definitely take it to the vet...he'll need to be checked for parasites and whatnot as well as other things. Make sure the vet you take it to knows about exotics too...a lot of "cat and dog" vets don't know any more about exotics than petsmart employees....
 
yeah i will..he seem fine he is eating..and cleaning himself...he looks good but i made an appointment for this friday..
 
Wow, what a find. I've always thought they would be a cool pet. I was told they are illegal to have in my state. Don't know if thats true. Good luck with the little guy!
 
yeah i workd with them at my old work, they are awesome ...wicked good pets once they get use to u..they go everywhere..there like dogs
 
good thing someone knowledgeable came along. Hope the vet finds nothing else wrong at his check up.
