Honest...I DO have a life. LOL I am just enjoying the lens.
I tried lighting the tank from the side so I would have light coming from the overhead, flash and side fill.
This is no flash. Not as crisp as the others, but I liked the side shadow and pose.
Fith front fill flash reduced manually by two stops...just enough light to illuminate the face.
This was the shot I thought I was looking for...but it didn't look very different from other photos I have taken of the fish. Note how the shadow is buried evenly behind the fish.
Bingo...right on. I reduced the Flash output and adjusted the aperature. Much more detail in the fins...color...and better seperation from fish and background.

Great pics. Are you able to sex the big one? Love the gold.

I originally thought male...but now I am leaning toward female. I think the smaller one is the male.
The fish just DID NOT LIKE the extra side light. He flared and snapped at the glass like I have never seen before. After about five minutes he drained to a snow white background. Not the best photo...but you can see what I mean.
Parachromis Honduras in 180 growout. No flash. THis fish is one inch in length. Nice detail with the vibration reduction lens.
Larger specimen in the divided 75 gallon. Lotsa gold.
Just dumb luck and about fifty photos of this particular fish this session.
Another of the fish in the 180...available light.
More of that luck stuff...heh heh
